More patients are being pushed out of hospitals so they can be treated at home. When they are discharged from hospital, the hospital typically provides the patients with a discharge summary (documentation of their medications and directions). These summaries would then need to be transcribed by a pharmacist which can sometimes lead to errors. Having the ability to attach the document will help pharmacists look up the document when required.
