Using the Z Software Ideas Portal

Customer feedback plays an important role in shaping our products, however voting alone does not determine what gets built.

Why voting matters

Votes help us understand customer demand and identify trends across our customer base.

Ideas with strong customer support may attract greater attention from the Product team, but voting is only one input into our prioritisation process.

We also consider the number of unique customer organisations supporting an idea.

For example, an idea with support from many different organisations may be prioritised differently to an idea with the same number of votes coming primarily from a single organisation.

Our goal is to understand the breadth of customer demand, not simply the total number of votes.

How we prioritise ideas

When evaluating ideas we consider:

  • Customer demand and voting

  • Customer impact

  • Strategic alignment

  • Regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Technical effort and complexity

  • Dependencies on other initiatives

  • Available capacity and roadmap commitments

This helps ensure we focus on delivering the greatest value to the widest range of customers while continuing to support our long-term product strategy.

Important expectations

Submitting an idea does not guarantee that it will be developed.

Similarly, receiving a large number of votes does not automatically mean an idea will be added to the roadmap.

All ideas are considered alongside strategic priorities, customer impact, regulatory requirements, technical feasibility, dependencies, and other planned initiatives.

The Ideas Portal helps us better understand customer needs and make informed product decisions, while maintaining transparency around the process.
